Banana Liqueur
20% ABV / 500mL
Imagine a slice of banoffee pie and gooey banana bread, but in liquid form. The concept of making a banana liqueur made from real bananas with no fake banana flavour additives started as an experiment way back in 2017. After a few failed starts and many, many gloopy messes, we put the project in the 'too hard' basket and it sat on the sidelines.
Seven years later, in 2024 we decided to pull this project out of the woodwork and try another flavour extraction method we'd read about in an old cookbook. It still involves a lot of gloopy messes along the way, but the end result is a thick and tasty liqueur with enough banana 'oomph' to send monkeys and monkey-wannabes into a frenzy. In fact, each 500ml bottle of Banana Liqueur contains five bananas.
To make this decadent liqueur, we cut up ripe QLD grown bananas, keeping both skin and flesh. One portion of bananas is very slowly cooked with sugar for 12 hours until the distillery smells like banana cake. The remainder is infused in cane spirit and distilled. After several rounds of messy filtration, we combine the syrup and the spirit then let it rest and develop in complexity.
The gloopy solids that remain in the filter bag are rather tasty. Instead of throwing the leftovers away, we give them to a cookie factory next door to turn into banana cookies.
As with all of our limited edition liqueurs, this one is bottled in up-cycled spirit bottles collected from bars which we've cleaned, de-labelled and polished prior to filling.
Important note: While we have filtered this liqueur several times, it does still have a lot of suspended (flavourful) particulates. Please shake the bottle prior to serving to mix up all the goodness.
Contains precisely 0.0% artificial colours, flavours and preservatives. Vegan friendly (we don't use any animal products nor processes throughout). Gluten free.

Impressed by how smooth and clean it is to drink while genuinely tasting like an alcohol based banana smoothie.
Only complaint would be wish you got more of it for the price but happy to support a small company that’s doing great quality products.
Bruh this is genuinely the best most flavourful liqueur I’ve ever had. I love all of their products but SPECIFICALLY finding banana liqueur that doesn’t taste like ethanol and back-of-the-cupboard lollies is impossible. This is it. It’s like the warmest banana bread you’ve ever eaten. Very versatile too because of this deeper flavour so it’s super complimentary to dark spirits. Incredible. 10/10.
Even better than the highly regarded Tempus Fugitive equivalent, this amps up the ripe banana flavour. Great in tiki drinks!
Bought two bottles of the Banana Liqueur and it is everything I could have hoped for, it's cooked banana atop toasted banana bread and is simply delicious. I've been using it in cocktails but mostly just sipping chilled out of the fridge.
Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
The newest batch so far is also quite a few shades darker than the image, but it is all flavour and texture, just gorgeous stuff.
I bought the banana liqueur this week. I don't even like banana stuff that much (I was just curious), but holy crap this is fabulous! That's like someone boiled the gooiest banana bread for hours then bottled it. I'm having a Bahama mamma cocktail and watching RuPaul's Drag Race tonight!
Had this over ice to start with so I could really taste the flavours was instantly tasting ripe bananas..tastes great over ice and it will be great in a cocktail … I’ll have to try creating something like a banoffee one
I also need to make note of the amazing service from the company Australia post smashed a bottle in my first delivery… white possum still sent me the bottle of banana liquor that survived the first order … then proceeded to send me another full bottle of the same banana liqueur plus the other bottle I ordered of the green apple gin
This was a surprise hit. mix it in the shaker with milk and ice. perfectoly delicious
