Hunting for some inspiration on how to use our liqueurs?
Here are a few ideas to get the mixology started.
Amaretto Sour
[ 60ml Amaretto, 30ml fresh lemon juice, 15ml egg white ]
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Don't add any ice. Shake like you've never shaken before. Now add ice and shake again until cold. Strain into your fanciest glass and garnish with a cherry or orange wedge.
Godfather
[ 45ml Amaretto, 45ml blended whisky (e.g. Starward Two-Fold) ]
Combine both ingredients in an old fashioned glass. Throw in a big block of ice and stir until very cold.
'Amaro-etti' Biscotti
[ 30ml Amaretto, 45ml brandy (e.g. St Agnes VSOP), 15ml amaro (e.g. Autonomy Distillers Amaro), 8 drops orange bitters ]
Stir all ingredients down over ice until cold, then strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with an orange peel.
Possum After Dark
[ 45ml Dark Cacao, 30ml Bourbon, 20ml Autonomy Orange Liqueur, 1 dash chocolate bitters ]
Combine ingredients over a large block of ice in an old fashioned glass. Stir and garnish with an orange wheel.
Nuttus Spiritus
[ 30ml Hazelnut Liqueur, 30ml Coffee Liqueur, 60ml vodka ]
Combine all ingredients in a tumbler with plenty of ice. Stir until very cold. Splash over 30ml heavy cream if desired. Garnish with crushed roast hazelnuts.
Hazelnut Affogato
[ 15ml Hazelnut Liqueur, 30ml espresso coffee, vanilla icecream ]
Pour the Hazelnut Liqueur and espresso coffee over a big scoop of icecream. Sprinkle over some roasted coffee beans.
Coconut Espresso Martini
[ 30ml Coffee Liqueur, 30ml vodka, 20ml espresso (optional), 60ml coconut cream, 5ml maple syrup ]
Shake well to combine and create a rich foam. Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with coffee beans or star anise.
Dark Cacao Martini
[ 15ml Dark Cacao, 15ml Coffee Liqueur, 30ml vodka, 15ml fresh espresso ]
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake without ice until foamy, then add ice and shake again until very cold. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with some chocolate shavings or coffee beans.
Cacao x Old Fashioned
[ 15ml Dark Cacao, 45ml Bourbon, 2 dashes orange bitters ]
In an old fashioned glass, plonk in a large block of ice. Pour over all ingredients. Stir gently to combine. Garnish with an orange twist.
Aviation
[ 30ml Maraschino, 45ml gin, 15ml fresh lemon juice ]
Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a Martini glass. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry. It won't be purple, because we generally avoid strange ingredients like Creme de Violette, but who said Aviations had to be purple?
The Last Word
[ 30ml Maraschino, 30ml gin, 15ml chartreuse, 20ml fresh lime juice ]
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until very cold then strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry.
Vesper Martini
[ 15ml Kina, 90ml gin, 30ml vodka ]
Combine ingredients into a mixing glass. Add ice then stir till very cold. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with lemon peel.
Negroni
[ 30ml Scarletta, 30ml dry gin, 30ml sweet vermouth ]
Pour everything in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until cold. Put a big hunk of ice in a fancy tumbler, then strain the contents of the mixing glass over the ice. Garnish with an orange slice.
Scarletta Spritz
[ 60ml Scarletta, 90ml sparkling wine, 30ml soda water ]
Pour the Scarletta in a wine glass. Top it up with 90ml of ice cold sparkling wine and 30ml soda water.
